Batman  is a 1960’s American live action television series, based on the DC comic book character of the same name.  It starred Adam West as Batman and Burt Ward as Robin — two crime-fighting heroes who defend Gotham City.  It aired on the ABC network for three seasons from January 12, 1966, to March 14, 1968.  The show was aired twice weekly for its first two seasons and weekly for the third, with a total of 120 episodes produced during its run.  The program was known for camp style, its upbeat theme music, and relatively simplistic youth-aimed moral lessons, which included championing the importance of using seat belts, doing homework, eating vegetables, and drinking milk among children.  (More from Wikipedia)
 
 

Side 2 of the 1989 retrospective album of Link Protrudi and the Jaymen, Missing Links includes a live performance of “Batman”, played against the backdrop of the original “Batman Theme” by Neal Hefti for the 1960’s Batman TV show.  Midway through the performance, two of the bandmembers take a novel approach to the old rumor that Batman and Robin were the original Ambiguously Gay Duo by letting Robin admit to having a dalliance with Spider-Man.

While she had never any other major hit songs, Lesley Gore continued recording, and she also appeared on the final episode of The Donna Reed Show in 1966.  Her other acting credits include two episodes of the Batman television series in early 1967 as one of Catwoman’s minions.

The statistics about the Wrecking Crew are staggering, with various members appearing on tens of thousands of recordings.  Hal Blaine is believed to be the most recorded drummer in history, while Tommy Tedesco is said to be the most recorded guitarist.  And their talents were not limited to records; again from Wikipedia:  “Tedesco’s credits include the iconic brand-burning accompaniment theme from television’s Bonanza, The Twilight Zone, Vic Mizzy’s iconic theme from Green Acres, M*A*S*H, Batman, and Elvis Presley’s ’68 Comeback Special.”
