WORDY RAPPINGHOOD Â "Wordy Rappinghood" Â is a song by American new wave band Tom Tom Club. Â The song was the lead single from the band's debut studio album, Tom Tom Club. Â It uses part of a traditional Moroccan children's song and game, "A Ram Sam Sam", made popular by the 1971 Rolf Harris recording. Â In the United States, the song was released as a double A-side with "Genius of Love" and topped the US Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart. Â (More from Wikipedia) Â
The first Tom Tom Club album, Tom Tom Club (1981) included their two hits, "Wordy Rappinghood" and "Genius of Love", the latter being a long-time favorite of mine that has a really cool animated video.  (December 2013)  |
