Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky  (25 April/7 May 1840 – 25 October/6 November 1893), often anglicized as Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky, was a Russian composer of the late-Romantic period, some of whose works are among the most popular music in the classical repertoire.  He was the first Russian composer whose music made a lasting impression internationally, bolstered by his appearances as a guest conductor in Europe and the United States.  Tchaikovsky was honored in 1884 by Emperor Alexander III, and awarded a lifetime pension.  (More from Wikipedia)
 
 

Chuck Berry’s 1956 hit “Roll Over Beethoven” – “Roll Over Beethoven” also might be my very favorite Beatles cover song – contains a truly delicious song lyric:  “Roll over [in your grave], Beethoven / And tell Tchaikovsky the news”.

Kim Fowley was the songwriter and record producer for “Nut Rocker”, an adaptation of a section of The Nutcracker by Tchaikovsky; the artist was given as B. Bumble and the Stingers.  The record was a #1 hit in the UK in May 1962 and hit #23 in the US.
